The Isle of Man adopts a wonderfully slow pace of life, enabling the visitor to appreciate its famous scenery, enchanting glens, miles of uncrowded beaches, medieval castles, Victorian railways and trams plus many beautiful parks and gardens, not forgetting the fascinating museums and heritage centres.

Excursion 1
Steam Train, castle Rushen, Peel and House of Manannan: Travel on the longest narrow gauge steam line in the UK, sixteen miles from Douglas to Port Erin and continue to Castletown, to visit Rushen Castle, one of Europes most finely preserved medieval castles. Continue in the afternoon along the western shoreline to Peel, and the House of Manannan, named after the island's mythological sea god.
Excursion 2
Manx Electric Railway, Laxey and Snaefell Mountain Railway: Take the electric railway north along the coast to Laxey, home to the world's largest working waterwheel 'Isabella'. Then take your seat on the Snaefell Mountain railway, to the summit of Snaefell, the highest point on the island.
Chesterhouse Hotel 3 star
Located on the seafront of Douglas, all rooms have TV, telephone, hospitality tray and hairdryer. There is a restaurant, bar, lounge and a lift.
