The Imperial War Museum Duxford is situated on a former First and Second World War RAF base. Highlights include Air Space, a stunning hanger which tells the story of British and Commonwealth aviation, with over 30 aircraft, The American Air Museum, home to the largest collection of American Aircraft on display outside the US, the Maritime Hanger, The Battle of Britain Hanger, which tells the story of the dramatic events of 1940-1941 and the role Duxford played in defending Britain, and the Land Warfare Museum. Find out more about aircraft and military vehicles and the role they have played in modern conflict and people’s lives. Get up close to a Spitfire, marvel at the supersonic Concorde, peer into General Montgomery’s wartime caravans and experience the size and scale of the might tanks.
